Free Reiki Level 2 Manual (Tutorial)

print email
Modalities: Reiki

Reiki Level 2, also called 2nd degree Reiki, is the professional practitioner’s level and the main focus is about:

  • Becoming a professional Reiki practitioner with the intention of opening a healing practice
  • Distant/absentee healing
  • Group healing
  • The student receives one attunement, in which your heart chakra is opened to receive and experience unconditional universal love and compassion (Note: An attunement is also called Reiju, pronounced Ray-joo; Japanese translation means spiritual blessing or offering of spiritual energy)
  • Reiki Level 1 was about self-healing and sensing the energy - the symbols are placed within the student’s aura and the energy of the symbols is unconsciously dispersed through the hands
  • In Reiki Level 2 you learn to consciously call the energy - the energy of the symbols is consciously directed by the healer for specific purposes
  • Some teachers believe that in Level 2, attunement to the power symbol, Cho-Ku-Rei, boosts your energy (E.g. from a 50 watt light bulb to a 500 watt bulb), plus your healing ability also increases (E.g. from 110 volt current to 220)
  • It is important to understand and to remember that the Reiki symbols do not have magical powers.  They are merely shortcuts or triggers that automatically generate a specific action in accordance with your focused intention.  They unlock the doors to higher levels of awareness or higher states of consciousness through the power of intention and help you determine subtle energies that signify problems or imbalances on the physical, mental, emotional or spiritual levels.
  • The symbols are written in Japanese Kanji, which is actually a calligraphic form adopted from Chinese script
  • Although many Reiki books and teachers believe that many symbols originate from Tibet and have implemented these into their curriculum, through further investigation into Japanese history, it has been discovered that Tibet had nothing to do with the introduction of Reiki into Japan
  • The traditional 3-level system that is offered us called Usui Shiki Ryoho (Japanese translation means Usui style healing), uses five symbols.  Two symbols are used when passing attunement and are learned in the Master Teacher level.
  • In Reiki Level 2, you will learn three Reiki symbols
  • Power symbol - Cho-Ku-Rei (pronounced Choh-Koo-Ray)
  • Distant/absentee symbol - Hon-Sha-Ze-Sho-Nen (pronounced Hon-Shaw-Zay-Show-Nen)
  • Mental/Emotional symbol - Sei-He-Ki (pronounced Say-Hay-Key)
  • You will learn how to write them, when to use them and how to consciously direct their energy during your healings.
