Preparation of Self for Reiki Self-Treatment

Modalities: Reiki
  • Wash your hands (for sanitary purposes)
  • Relax in a comfortable position (sitting or laying down)
  • Play soft, relaxing music if you wish
  • Cover yourself with a light throw or wear a sweater
  • Wear loose, comfortable clothing
  • Remove watch and jewellery or metal objects (okay to leave wedding rings on if you wish)
  • Ground and protect yourself
  • Set your intent – remember, it is your focus and intention that starts the Reiki energy flowing

Examples

  • To heal your illness or disease
  • To release pain, stiffness or discomfort
  • To remove energy blockages from past or present issues
  • To release toxins and impurities from your body
  • To cleanse and balance your body
  • To energize your body
  • Silently state a simple invocation – remember, thoughts are energy and action always follows a thought

Examples

  • Let Reiki flow for the highest and greatest good
  • To be a clear channel for Reiki universal life force energy
  • Ask for assistance from your Spirit Healing Team (which may include your guides, angels, Ascended Masters/teachers, Usui sensei, other Reiki Masters or universal source)
  • Begin your self-treatment hand positions holding for 3-5 minutes at each position or follow your intuition and do what you are guided to do
  • When finished, cleanse yourself using the dry brush method or shower method, etc. (to disconnect your energy from your Spirit Healing Team)
  • Say a silent prayer of gratitude
  • Wash your hands (for sanitary purposes and to remove excess contaminated energy lingering in your system)
