Dr. Chujiro Hayashi (Pronounced Chew-Jeer-Oh Hi-Ash-Ee)

Chujiro Hayashi was born in September 15, 1878 in Tokyo, Japan
He was formally trained as a navel officer, plus also a navel surgeon in 1902
In 1925, at age 47, he received Shinpiden from Mikao Usui. (Shinpiden translated means the mystery/secret teachings, equivalent to Reiki Master Teacher Level)
He was instrumental in organizing the first Reiki manual showing hand positions, symbols, body diagrams and illnesses
Hayashi sensei broke away to develop his own modified system of Reiki after Usui’s death and opened his own commercial clinic for paying clients at a small clinic in Tokyo named Hayashi Reiki Kenkyu-kai
On May 10th, 1941, because Hayashi sensei was a man of peace, he felt that he could not participate in WWII, so he committed suicide (Seppuku) in the presence of his wife and students
Before his death, Hayashi sensei initiated 17 Shinpiden Masters, (Shinpiden translated means the mystery/secret teachings, equivalent to Reiki Master Teacher Level), including his wife Chie Hayashi and Hawayo Takata í
