Clients come to counselling for a variety of reasons. You may be dealing with feelings of depression or anxiety. You may want to change self-sabotaging or addictive patterns of behavior. You may be going through a difficult time, struggling with relationship or career issues, illness, divorce, or the death of a loved one. You may be asking yourself such questions as: Why am I here? Is this all there is? Why do I feel so alone? Why am I unhappy? Why am I so angry? Counseling offers an opportunity to pause and reflect on these questions and on your life’s challenges -- and to make the necessary changes that will allow you become more self-accepting and to live more comfortably.
There are times in life where events, situations are becoming overwhelming and difficult to deal with. Working with an experienced counsellor can provide you with a space and someone who can listen to you without jumping to conclusions or giving directions. I will work with you in a non judgmental manner and will help you to clarify and understand difficult feelings, thoughts, emotions, life events, issues or problems.
The better you come to know and honor your true self the more fully you can experience all life has to offer. This means becoming more present to the joys you encounter, including how you relate to others, as well as being better prepared to meet new challenges (self-empowerment).
If you’re reading this then you are possibly searching for a suitable person to talk to regarding something in your life that is not quite the way you would like it to be at the moment. Something may have happened recently, or it might have been building for a while.

Therapy may be able to offer insight into these and other concerns or it may be that it could be useful to just talk generally about your situation with a trained professional in a genuine, accepting and non-judgmental environment.
Making initial contact can be the most difficult step and I would encourage you to look around this site and others to get a sense of what might be involved. Feel free to get in touch at any time with any questions or to arrange your first session.
I am a Registered Professional Counsellor with a certificate in Transactional Counselling from Clearmind International, in addition to undergraduate degrees in Psychology and Business.
I first began counselling while I was completing a Bachelors degree in Psychology from the University of Victoria and worked as a volunteer lay counselor and a street social worker. I spent three years of intense experiential counsellor training at the Clearmind International Institute and have advanced training in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy. I have experience working with individuals and couples, have facilitated group counseling sessions, mentored business executives, and assisted teaching a counseling program.
I’ve also done extensive personal work, such as you are considering now, believing in the philosophy of healing myself first before approaching healing others.
