“Jaya” is a Hindi name that means “victorious.” It is also another name for Durga—the Hindu goddess that slays obstacles from your path.

 

Jaya has a passion for wild elephant conservation. She is a foster parent of orphaned baby elephants at the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust in Nairobi. In 2005, she fulfilled a life dream of going on safari to observe African elephants and meet some of her conservationist heroes in Kenya and is eager to visit again.
