David Burrows

I entered the field of massage therapy in my late twenties, after discovering a healing quality in my hands by accident when a friend asked me to "work on their back." I graduated from the Suncoast Massage School in Tampa, Fl, in 1992, with a specialization in Asian Modalities or acupressure. Over the years,  I have become a "full spectrum" integrative healing practitioner, picking up additional modalities of Energy Work and Music, as well as Ayurveda, along the path of my journey.  I passed the rigorous Florida Massage Licensing Exam shortly after graduation in '92 to become a Licensed Massage Therapist, and became a Registered Massage Therapist in the State of Colorado after moving to Denver, CO.

I studied with one of the Best--Instructor Art Riggs--in Deep Tissue Massage.  Art emphasized "soft paws" that sink deeply into muscles. 

I have also learned from some of the finest Energy Healing Practitioners, such as Miatek Wirkus from Poland. At the Boulder College of Massage Therapy, I learned the techniques of Myofascial Release, Muscle Energy Technique and Trigger Point Therapy. I completed all levels of Healing Touch Therapy to become a Certified Healing Touch Practitioner through Healing Touch International (www.healingtouchinternational.org).  I went on to train at the Instructor Level in Healing Touch as well as the Reiki form of Energy Therapy.

As a life-long learner, I completed a six month, 500 hr program in Ayurveda. As well, I completed a program of study in the use of Music as a healing modality at the bedside of the ill through the Music for Healing and Transition Program (www.mhtp.org) out of Hillsdale, NY. I completed therapeutic musical internships in Denver hospital and hospice organizations as part of my training to become a Certified Music Practitioner. During travel in Thailand, I learned the art of Thai Massage at the Wat Po School of Traditional Medicine in Bangkok.

I am a creative individual, performing, writing, and involved with choirs in the Denver, CO.  My newest musical venture is with Voices of Light Chamber Choir.  I provide therapeutic musical and bodywork services in Denver area Nursing Homes, in addition to my private practice.  I am honored and grateful to  offer healing for body, mind and spirit through my practice, Turtle Mountain Healing.
