    Pregnancy/Parent Counselling
via face to face sessions, this is necessary when pregnancy or parenting is overwhelming and there is a feeling of stuckness, aloneness or unempowerment. There may be other things impacting the pregnancy or parenting journey, ie. Post natal depression, fears related to your mothering role, adoption relinquishment, traumatic birth, same sex role identification, integrating your own childhood experiences, a conflictual divorce or separation, death or loss of a family member (including miscarriage and abortion), single parenting, conflicting parenting values amongst family members, overwhelming emotions in both yourself and your child, etc.

    Child Counselling
via face to face sessions, this is necessary when your child has experienced a traumatic event or is displaying challenging or withdrawn behaviours.

    Small Group Workshops
are wonderful for connecting with other like minded parents and exploring specific topics around parenting. Exploring this journey with peers is incredibly healing and supportive. Topics may include Mindfulness in Parenting, Preventing Power Struggles, Understanding Attachment, Parenting Styles, Supporting Emotions, Parent Guilt, etc.

    Parent Retreats
what a wonderful way to truly connect inside and with others. Parents need ‘time in’, time to refuel and to look at what’s really important in their lives. During a retreat we will explore the origins of our relationship blueprint, where it came from, how it has played out in our lives and how we can create the relationships with ourselves and our family members that we truly want.

    Testimonial: Excellent Parent Coaching

    Sep 19, 2012
Client: Michael Bunting    Conditions: Parent Coaching

“Monique has an incredible understanding of what a child needs to grow into a truly healthy and well adjusted human being. I was genuinely surprised to find myself being humbled and challenged even after 18 years of my own psychological and spiritual work. I realised that I have blind spots & convenient excuses around the way I parent.  Consciousness...and awareness were somehow excluded from the way I thought about parenting.

I think parents the world over want the very best for their kids.  They want their kids to be happy. I think Monique's work is an absolute must for any parent who truly wants that happiness for themselves and their children.”

    Testimonial: Brilliant Parent Counsellor

    Sep 19, 2012
Client: Steve Heptonstall    Conditions: Challenges with Parenting 2 young children

“I thought I had an idea what conscious parenting was, but have been shown in a loving non judgmental way by Monique that there is so much more to this than simply being available and present for our kids. It has changed the way I parent, and the results are instantaneous for both myself and my kids. Whilst the challenges still arise, I feel much better equipped to deal with them from a place of love and understanding.”

    Testimonial: Deeper Levels of Understanding

    Oct 01, 2012
Client: Aisling Fry    Conditions: Supervision & Training

I have known Monique Rutherford as a trainer and facilitator for two years.  I have been impressed with her ability to present material clearly and succinctly and to gently guide participants to deeper levels of understanding through the use of experiential activities, reflection and discussion. She has a rare gift for generating a sense of safety and respect, allowing participants not only to experiment with the various interventions but also to bring to awareness elements within themselves which may impact of their engagement with clients.

I have recently had the pleasure of accessing Professional Supervision with Monique and really appreciate the flexibility of being able to engage in face to face, Skype and group supervision sessions. Monique’s deep knowledge and infectious passion for Sand Play and Symbol Work and Expressive Therapies has raised my experience of supervision to a new level. I am excited I have found not only the most effective therapeutic model for my clients but someone who fully understands the complexity of working with traumatized children.

Monique embodies the ideals of an Expressive Therapist – she ‘walks the talk’ and inspires me to endeavor to do the same. Thanks Monique!
