I'm a meditation teacher, counsellor and certified Somatic Experiencing trauma therapist. I intuitively integrate these naturalistic models to work deeply with the whole of my client - body, heart, mind and spirit.

My focus is guiding you to build effective physical and mental resources and directly resolve your own issues from a space of personal power and presence. You'll also learn techniques for maintaining your own happiness.

A free technique for inner peace
Meditation can be a powerful way of relaxing, gaining clarity, and letting go of what's not important. And the support of an experienced teacher can make a big difference to your progress and understanding of what meditation really is. So, if you’ve tried and failed with meditation before, come try mine; I’ll be glad to welcome you.

Where are my classes?
I teach regular meditation classes and workshops in central, SW and SE London. Classes start from £6 (when you introduce a friend).

Sharing my devotion to inner silence
I meditate every and and have spent over a 1,000 hours 'going in' (including during a year living in an international meditation centre in Denmark); it's from the deep rest it gives me that I share my devotion to inner silence. I've written about my favourite subject for The Times and as former contributing editor to AOL's mydaily.co.uk

What else do I do?
Formally trained in Dr Peter Levine’s Somatic Experiencing trauma therapy, my integrative approach is influenced by 12 years’ studying transpersonal and humanistic modalities that move beyond traditional psychotherapy. They include Rogerian counselling, the Diamond Approach, Non-Violent Communication, Inner Man/Inner Woman, and Sufism.

All help people understand their anxieties, bodies, emotional lives, relationships, illnesses and personality as part of - and direct ways through - their healing process. All give me the capacity to look at your experiences from different perspectives and increase the likelihood of finding the best resolution.

What style of Meditation do you practice?

I specialise in a modern style called Osho Active Meditation that balance stillness with movement and silence with music. They were created for people like you and me; over-busy Westerners who know they need to slow down but struggle to sit still and quieten their mind. That said, I'm all for shopping around until you find the right meditation(s) for you, and so I also offer other styles such as the excellent mindfulness meditation, slient sitting, Jon Kabat Zinn's Body Scan and guided meditations.

How long is a typical Meditation session?

1.15 hrs for a group class. An hour four a private class, or less: you choose.

Describe your office or treatment room:

I teach in the City of London, East Dulwich, Forest Hill and Balham; all the spaces are bright, light and a pleasure to be in. You can see pictures on my website.

How often do clients come for a Meditation session?

Weekly.

What conditions do you recommend Meditation for?

Anxiety, stress, over-busyness, bad sleep, fatigue, post-surgery...

What would you tell anyone wondering if Meditation will help them?

Come and try one of my classes; you have nothing to lose but your sharp edges.

How should someone prepare for a Meditation session?

By wearing comfortable clothing that doesn't restrict theit chest or abdomen; the kind of thing you'd wear to the gym is good.

How has Meditation impacted your life?

It's transformed it and I would not be without it. I mediate every day and enjoy a life of peace, purpose, meaning happiness and nourishing relationships.

Somatic Experiencing trauma therapy - a pioneering mindfulness-based approach to resolving anxiety, stress and trauma through the body.

What is the most important thing you have learned from practicing Meditation?

That in the here and now there is no problem, only awareness, love and clarity. And that we always have the choice to be present, and that meditation is a process of strenghtening our 'now' muscle so that less and less are we dragged by the mind into the drama of the past or future.

Who is an ideal client for you?

One who is open minded, tenacious, courageous and has a good sense of humour!

Why do people come to see you rather than another practitioner of Meditation?

I recommend that you go to the teachers to which you're drawn. If that's me, I look forward to sharing my deep love of meditation and inner silence with you.

Where did you study Meditation

In various spiritual centres around the world, mainly in Denmark where I trained as a therapist, counsellor and meditation teacher for three years, and lived for a year in 2010 and meditated every day for up to five hours a day.

What are the benefits/results people see from Meditation?

Calm. Relaxation. Compassion. Self-understanding. Problem solving. Clarity. Improved emotional health. Better relationship with their body. Good sleep. Less fear. Happier. More creativity. More loving. Less judgemental. Increased emotional, psychic and physical sensitivity. Letting go of what's not important and allowing more space for what is.

The list is very, very long and humbling... Scientists are finding that when people meditate, they’re actually changing the structure of their brain.
