    Graceful Movement, Joyful Aging   charlottechavez.com

    Modalities: Feldenkrais®

I help people work with what they've got while they've still got it! "Graceful movement, Joyful aging" is my motto. Live all of the life you are given!!

I have been aging all my life and have experienced some pretty big challenges.  I am now in my 69th year and I believe that we can age more joyfully, with a positive attitude and a joyful nature.

I can teach someone to be able to get down on the floor and get back up again, help improve balance and build bone strength for more vitality in their life.  My work is gentle, safe, and profound!

    Why do you practice Feldenkrais®?

I practice Feldenkrais because it makes my own life more joyful and exciting.  It is such wonderful work and I really love sharing it with others.  To see the joy on their faces and the improvement in their lives, brings me great satisfaction.

How long is a typical Feldenkrais® session?

A private Feldenkrais session lasts 45 minutes to an hour.

What style of Feldenkrais® do you practice?

I practice the work taught by Moshe Feldenkrais.

How often do clients come for a Feldenkrais® session?

The frequency of private sessions depends on the issues of the client.

    Describe a typical Feldenkrais® session:

A typical private session is a focused, individual experience. It involves gentle hands-on in performing movements that are tailored to one's individual needs It involves gentle hands-on movements that are tailored to the individual’s particular condition. Many people find it effective for rehabilitation and pain reduction. The practice is also recommended for depression, anxiety, and stress management.

A Feldenkrais class is a quiet affair, with the practitioner walking around the room and speaking softly to the students, leading them in deceptively simple floor exercises, using common movements like bending, turning, working with the feet, rolling the head and breathing to help each person discover the ways he or she moves most easily. These series of guided movements are arely repeated, and something new can be learned each time.

    Professional Training

I graduated in 1999 from the Delman/Questel Training in Terra Linda, California.
