    Alaina Speraw has practiced Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine for over 20
    years. She is a graduate of Emperor's College of Oriental Medicine, Santa
    Monica, California and has a Bachelor's degree in Humanistic Psychology/Asian
    Studies from Sonoma State College, Rohnert Park, California.

    After completing her training, Alaina Speraw established Morningtide Acupuncture Clinic in Halifax, Nova Scotia, where she and her staff provided holistic health care services. She was the founding member of the Nova Scotia Acupuncture Association and Vice President and a sought after guest speaker on TV, Radio and public forums.

    In 1989 she returned to Arizona where she worked at Canyon Ranch Health Resort in Tucson as an Acupuncturist and workshop presenter.
    She also worked with Solstice Integrative Medicine specializing in Cancer and other auto-immune disorders under the direction of Jesse Stoff, MD, HMD.
    Alaina was an Assessor for the NIH funded Depression Study at the University of Arizona. She also was participated in lobbying for the licensure of Acupuncturists in Arizona with the Arizona Society of Oriental Medicine & Acupuncture.

    She has been the Acupuncturist for Virginia G Piper Cancer Center providing Acupuncture support for patients undergoing conventional therapies where she has helped patients with both side effects and restoration of health. Alaina continues to offer holistic healthcare at her clinic, Goldlake Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine in Scottsdale, Arizona. She is teacher of Chinese internal movement arts, Meditation and Life Coaching.

    Traditional Chinese Medicine and some Japanese style.

    Describe a typical Acupuncture session:

    First and formost is listening to the patients concerns, then we do a traditional diagnosis and create a personalized treatment which may include: acupuncture or acutonics (needle-less acupuncture), cupping, heat therapies, massage, aromatherapy, herbal and or dietary recommendation and therapeutic exercise, meditation or qi gong.

    How long is a typical Acupuncture session?

    50 minutes.
