Tuina is a method using arms, hands, fingers, elbows and knees as tools for preventing and treating diseases and illnesses. Tuina rectifies your body’s anomalies and alters the inner energy state of your biological system. For soft tissue injuries, Tuina relaxes muscles and tendons, promotes blood circulation and removes blood stasis.
Tuina is also used to protect health and build up body immunity, so that disease can be stopped in its emerging state. Tuina uses techniques and manipulations to stimulate acupuncture points or other parts of your body’s surface so as to correct physiological imbalances of your body and achieve healing. The effect of Tuina is to disperse and smooth obstructions whilst checking and restraining hyper function. Tuina is an important part of traditional chinese medicine.
Tuina may be applied to treat many disorders:-
* Soft tissue injuries
* Rheumatic pain
* Tiredness
* Lack of energy
* Stress
* Emotional problems
* Weight loss
* Alternative to botox
* Sports injuries
Tuina techniques and manipulations are rigorous. Herbal rubs can be used in conjunction with a Tuina treatment.
This treatment has no adverse side effects, although the intensity of the treatment can leave you:-
* Going to the toilet more often
* Feeling a build up and release of pressure
* Feeling calmer, even tired but not sluggish
It all depends on the nature of your illness or problem being treated. Tuina is the basis upon which many modern complementary therapies are based, such as shiatsu, acupressure, baby massage, deep tissue massage, sports massage, lymphatic draining to name but a few. Tuina techniques are also used in chiropracty and physiotherapy.
