During a Body Talk session, the practitioner facilitates communication with innate wisdom of the body by using neuromuscular biofeedback. After asking innate a series of yes or no questions, the client's own body wisdom leads the practitioner to locate the priorities which are not communicating correctly. Next, the practitioner holds the areas that have been highlighted by the testing procedure and taps gently on the head and sternum. By tapping on the head, the brain becomes aware of and repairs the communication link. Tapping on the sternum, or heart, ensures that the new information is stored throughout the whole body. This process guarantees the mechanisms of the body can function and operate at optimal levels, which in turn accelerates the healing process, thus preventing future problems within those highlighted areas.

History of Body Talk
BodyTalk was created by Australian Acupuncture and Natural health professional John Veltheim. Inspired by an ancient tapping technique which turned around his own health crisis, he developed this treatment method involving head and heart tapping.
He first came across it after overwork led to a deterioration of his own health. Ahealth practitioner friend recommended he try an ancient technique involving head and heart tapping, which she had found effective in treating viruses. The results were dramatic. Within days all of his Epstein Bar symptoms had disappeared. Veltheim, who had studied a variety of holistic treatments (including kinesiology, osteopathy, sports medicine, comparative philosophy and theology, neuroscience, homeopathy, naturopathy, chiropractic and Traditional Chinese Medicine), began to work with this technique and eventually developed it into the treatment system which he called BodyTalk. His goal was to share with others the dramatic results he had seen while creating a comprehensive treatment method that combined his knowledge of both eastern and western medical theories. He began using this new treatment in his own practice and found that it was effective for a large number of conditions and that it seemed to promote even more rapid healing for his patients.
