What we've been doing in the last couple of articles is analyze outer planet aspects. I have attempted to show you how these long term configurations affect the mindset of the generation they hold sway over. These contacts are not the least bit personal and, therefore, can not be read as though they had anything to say about the personality traits of the client. They represent a broader brush stroke and say more about a collective trend or attitude that was/is active in the culture at the time the client was born. To some extent, those trends and attitudes shape our being, but they have very little to say about what our private issues are or how we handle them. They may say something about the belief structures that we use to understand and cope with our issues, but that's about it. An individual who was born in the 50's could easily have exactly the same issues as someone who was born in the 70's, but their perspective on those concerns will be different due to the fact that the philosophical mindset in those two decades was radically different. Much of what follows will be a discourse on cultural trends. And, if it seems beside the point, it's not because outer planet aspects basically define these things. If you want to understand these configurations you have to see them in that context. Being able to do so will help you to pinpoint what angle your client is seeing themselves from and this will buttress your ability to get a feel for how they've been programmed.
These big outer planet aspects are like huge gears that move the collective consciousness forward and help humanity as a whole evolve toward whatever it is that we are all moving to. And the perceptions about what we're here for shift and change over time so each generation is different in the way they see things. If everything stayed the same, or all of us knew what the ultimate truth was, what would be the point of even continuing with the experiment? And while from this 3-D level of consciousness we are blind regarding where we are headed, at another level all of us understand intuitively that there is some sort of master plan here and we have agreed to offer our lives up to it.
We're going to start by talking about Uranus-Pluto aspects. These are my two favorite planets. I love them because they pry open the locks that keep us chained to the belief that what is apparent is what's real. Both of them demand that we pierce the Veil and break through to the other side. Think of the rebellious, paradigm busting Uranian influence and layer it with the transformational, life and death force held within the Pluto archetype. It's a double whammy. When these two bodies collide, what you've got is a revolution, and in hard aspect they can be explosive. And while there's something inherently dangerous and destructive about any explosion, the fact that such a phenomenon exists is more significant than the fact that we don't know enough about who we really are to direct that force. We tend to get trapped by the evil or "BAD" stuff inherent in the idea of danger and destruction, forgetting that these influences have their place in the scheme of things, too. Energies of this sort remind us that matter and physical reality are always subject to forces that we have no control over. But, since everything is "of the light", whatever is dangerous and destructive has just as much potential to transform and bring life to things. All we as humans are being called to do is USE that energy for the highest good. The fact that most of us don't know how to is what causes all the trouble here.
When you think of Uranus and Pluto consider that as destructive as they tend to be it's just because they rule forces within us that we haven't mastered. In hard aspect they imply that the native faces cyclical changes without a whole lot of consciousness. This lack of awareness causes change to hit them in the most God-awful way. It's as if the person doesn't know how to intuit what needs to happen in their lives and, instead of seeing the light and doing what they need to do they wait for the universe to knock them over the head with a sledgehammer. And it appears as if they are being victimized by forces that they have no control over when the truth is they just didn't know enough to handle the situation constructively. It's that simple. People with hard Uranus-Pluto aspects tend to turn a blind eye to any changes they need to make because it's difficult for them to confront their primary issues. The reason their lives get so messed up at times is born out of denial and fear. The trouble with living here in 3-D is you can't run and you can't hide from your "stuff". It gets you eventually, one way or another, and it's a Hell of a lot easier to confront it than it is to wait for all your "stuff" to hang you by the short hairs. With Uranus and Pluto in square, opposition, or in a stressed-out conjunction the individual has growth confused with destruction. And this means that they literally destroy everythin

With Uranus and Pluto in square, opposition, or in a stressed-out conjunction the individual has growth confused with destruction. And this means that they literally destroy everything in their path as part of every important change, OR, they do whatever they can to avoid changing and end up destroying themselves in a different way. It's hard to say which is worse. Uranus and Pluto were squaring each other in 1933 and the aspect was active, although out of orb somewhat in 1932 and 1934. If you recall in the last article what was mentioned about everyone born in the early thirties I pointed out that these people had a really tough set of lessons handed to them. And I mentioned that some of them really rose up and transcended those lessons or, if they survived, were embittered by all of their early traumatic experiences. A lot of these people ended up in concentration camps. The ones who weren't executed were crippled for life by their memories OR have become incredibly enlightened beings. And it's interesting to think about what it must have been like to have been born around that time and have had to face watching your father get called off to war, or what it must have been like to have to live through the depression and starve. No wonder people with these aspects associate change with destruction and fear! And whatever their lessons were they've come to terms with them or they haven't. What I said earlier about Uranus and Pluto in hard aspect making it difficult, in some cases, to confront your greatest fears, try to imagine what a holocaust survivor would have to go through to get clear of their stuff!!! It would frighten anyone. And I don't know what would be harder; confronting it or choosing to live with the damage. It's also true that they figured out how to split the atom in the 30's. Even though they didn't actually drop the bomb until the forties, the knowledge that led to it was developed in the thirties. Think about this; a bunch of scientists sitting around fiddling with transcendent, life and death forces wondering what the Hell to do with the information. With Uranus squaring Pluto vibrating behind the scenes at the point of discovery, NONE of them could have had any clarity about how to use these explosive energies constructively. They didn't know enough about themselves or what they were dealing with to use it for beneficial purposes. Sigmund Freud got big in the thirties, too. This was the time when psychotherapy began to be a hot topic. And his theories reflect exactly what Uranus and Pluto typify archetypally; getting enlightened or awakened to the role the subconscious plays in your behavior. It's a little off the point but interesting to note here that Pluto wasn't "legally discovered" by the scientific community till 1930. Up till that time the concept of the subconscious DIDN'T EVEN EXIST in the collective mind. If you wonder how in the world your grandparents and all your ancestors made it through life without needing to go to a shrink it's because they didn't recognize, or even know, that there was anything more to this reality than the fundamental fight for survival. Pluto was the new kid on the block in 1930 and, whatever the power of the subconscious really encompasses, it was a totally new concept. And you can't blame the scientists who discovered how to split the atom for being irresponsible because they didn't have one clue about what they were dealing with. You can't play with energies of this magnitude if you haven't done a tremendous amount of work on yourself at the inner level. So whoever these guys were, at some level they were like a bunch of schoolboys with a pile of dirty magazines. I may have gone off on too much of a tangent but this stuff is very interesting to think about. To bring the conversation back to Uranus and Pluto, the point is that in any chart where they're tightly configured change is associated with destruction. I'll give you another example. In 1965 Uranus and Pluto were conjunct. I have found that people born during this time are either very "Punk" or they're Neo-Republicans. If you think about what was going on in 1965 it was all about the hippie thing and the Vietnam War. It was also a time when the whole fifties illusion was dissolving rapidly. Some of these 1965 babies came into homes where the adults were probably smoking a lot of grass, maybe doing a little acid, and getting high on God knows what. Either that or Mom and Dad were making every effort to be as "normal" as possible. By that time it had sort of become "OK" to get divorced, so the family structure was more eclectic than it ever had been. Whatever the influences were, the children born during this time responded to it in one of two ways. The ones who took off and became "Punk" were probably over responding to parents who were trying real hard to keep the fifties image of "Father Knows Best" from crumbling. And their parents' marriages were probably no better than the marriages of their neighbors, who were getting stoned and splitting up, but to maintain appearances some people actually stayed together. Their kids grew up watching this and absorbing a lot of hyprocrisy. There's an old saying that says, "Your kids will inevitably follow in the footsteps you thought you covered up." And this is definitely true of the Uranus-Pluto conjunction crowd. They were so affected by what their parents weren't addressing they went out and became a reflection of what was being covered up! If Uranus and Pluto are all about getting awakened to the power of your own darkness, the "Punk" variety of sixties kids basically ended up blowing the lid off their parents' hypocrisy. And it's been my observation that the batch of 1965 babies that turned into Neo-Republicans are overcompensating for parents who were tripping, divorcing, or manifesting some form of total craziness. I said a while back that with these two planets you either respond to the energy explosively or you suppress it completely and have to live with the consequences. The "Punk" reaction reflects the explosive response and the Neo-Republican reaction reflects the need to just deny it all and pretend everything's really OK. I talk to a LOT of people who were born in the sixties. And the truth about the Uranus-Pluto conjunction bunch is that they were put here to change the world. All of them are in their forties now and have reached the point where whatever they felt compelled to install in their lives when they were younger is being balanced by what they have experienced as a result of those choices. I have seen that the ones who really went off the deep end have learned a tremendous amount from their trip over the edge and have come back to reality with a lot of knowledge about what's really important. They've leveled off and want to DO something now. The Neo-Republicans have woken up and realized that their neat little plans for a perfect life have yielded nothing but chaos and are struggling with the idea that MAYBE it's OK to be who you are and not be so self conscious about tripping over the edge and breaking all the rules. When I think of the power behind the 1965 Uranus-Pluto conjunction it's real meaning has to do with TRANSFORMATION through an in depth understanding of the casual forces BEHIND what is apparent. Those who were born under this influence, over time, will come to terms with the fact that their purpose here is deeply related to healing themselves and freeing the light within them so it can operate without obstruction and fix the mess the earth is in. It's my opinion that by the time this generation of souls hits fifty, they will know what to do, if they haven't figured it out already.
When Uranus and Pluto are well aspected there's no problem with all of the above. And what I mean by that is the process people with good aspects have to go through to confront their stuff and use their darker energy constructively isn't a tumultuous thing. It happens willingly and naturally. The most recent soft aspect between Uranus and Pluto happened between 1943 and 1945. The Second World War came to an end during that time frame. It doesn't take much to figure out what must have been going on in people's minds when the war was over. The babies that came through between those dates were imprinted with etheric energy that bestowed the ability to handle destructive forces intelligently. My older sister Christine was born in 1945 and she has dealt with all the craziness in her life more pragmatically than I have dealt with mine. It took Truman dropping the H-bomb on Hiroshima for everyone to wake up and realize that if we're going to have control over the power of life and death or assume that we have the right to play God, we need to be careful about how we use that power. The Atom Bomb was like a big sledgehammer and drove this point home. One could question why, if the Uranus-Pluto sextile was essentially benign, the bomb even got dropped. But the plans for that act were in place long before it actually happened. I have a feeling all of that got cooked up back in the thirties by the Secret Government, but that's another story. Remember what I said in the beginning of this article; these two planets are intrinsically volatile, and knowing what to do with volatile forces makes a difference in the way change comes about. The beings who were born between 1943 and 1945 were seeded with information that makes them know without a doubt that you can't behave irresponsibly with energies of this magnitude, whether they're happening inside you or outside in the world around you. In light of what's going on now, with the threat of war so seemingly imminent, what we have to realize is that none of what's apparent is real. Whether the powers that be know it or not, they are not in control. The archetypal forces that rule things have more to say about what happens on this planet than the people who appear to be in charge. And at the point where Uranus and Pluto formed that sextile, the guardians who watch over us all installed what one could liken to a computer chip into the hard drive of the collective consciousness that makes it impossible for anything that horrendous to ever happen again. This may be hard to believe, and I am sticking my neck out a little, but I am sure enough about this to put the thought form out there.
